Unconventionality
Openness
Unconventionality is part of how open someone is to novelty, ideas, imagination, beauty, and unconventional ways of seeing the world.
When this is higher, a person may be more exploratory, imaginative, curious, or comfortable with unfamiliar perspectives.
When this is lower, a person may prefer the familiar, the practical, or the proven over the novel or abstract.
This shapes learning, creativity, taste, experimentation, and how easily someone moves beyond the obvious or conventional.
High openness can become drift without grounding. Low openness can create stability, but may also limit experimentation and fresh insight.
HEXACO-PI-R 100 is the framework used to place this trait in a larger personality map.
A score here is best treated as a tendency, not a verdict. It helps describe patterns, not define a whole person.
